A student who has graduated from high school can still use MEFA Pathway to manage college applications for both Common App and/or Parchment processing.
Student Steps
Students with a MEFA Pathway account
If a student created a MEFA Pathway account previously, when they log in to mefapathway.org they will see the grade level as Graduated.
Students without a MEFA Pathway account
If a student had not previously created a MEFA Pathway account, they will need to do so by following these steps:
- Watch an overview video on the process
- Register for an account under the high school they graduated from
- Choose the appropriate year of graduation
- Follow these steps to connect their Common App and MEFA Pathway accounts
Counselor Steps
You will need to manually update three fields on the student’s record in the Counselor Portal on the Student Snapshot page.
- Assign a Primary Counselor using the counselor’s username
- Set Manage Student on Application Dashboard to “Y”
- For the Manage Student on Application Dashboard Year, set to current academic year
Once these fields have been updated, the student will then appear on their Primary Counselor’s Manage Transcripts/Recommendations Dashboard. The counselor then manages the student’s applications as usual.
Note: If a student attended a college after graduating from high school and is applying to colleges as a transfer student, they cannot use MEFA Pathway for submitting Common App college applications. Common App transfer applicants must perform all application activities within Common App. Students can, however, apply to non-Common App colleges as a transfer student.
